A few days ago a prominent musician passed away and at the day of his funeral, his family stated that there relative died a poor man because he didn’t put money first and as a result he has left nothing for his wife and children to live on and the family asking for help and support. ( My first thoughts were, what an irresponsible man).

As I pondered on the above statement, it really got me thinking about life and the decisions we make whilst we are on this earth and in the land of the living.

Firstly, I am from the school of thought which wants to believe money is not important. However, we live in a world which revolves around Money and is highly commercialised. No money means completely being cut off from society. Therefore, I have come to the hypothesis that we all need “money to survive”. Leaving some decent inheritance is equally important for it shows we lived and cared enough to leave something valuable to our children and spouse and extended family if your portfolio allows.
